Friday, July 1st from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm —We are partnering with Lake Forest School District to provide FREE tasty and healthy snacks to children in our community. Walk-In Technology Help

Tuesday, July 5th from 1:00 – 3:00 pm —Have a quick technology-related issue? Want to learn Basic Computing, MS Office, or other basic technology skills? Our staff is available to offer some help! Stop by our backroom on Tuesdays from 1:00 – 3:00 pm with your device and/or eagerness to learn some tech skills using several online tutorials and direct in-person help and get technical. FREE.

 

4th of July Craft Kit (Pick-up)

Week of July 5th – 9th—We’re bringing back our wildly popular craft pickup kits for one week only – to honor America! Be sure to stop in this week to snag a special Dr. Seuss-themed Independence Day craft kit to take & make @ home! Limited supplies. First come first served. In-Person Storytime

Wednesday, July 6th @ 10:45 am–Live, in-person pre-school aged story times are BACK in our recently renovated multipurpose room. Join our very own Miss Michele (& occasionally Ms. Marleena) for a fun children’s story! After the story, you will also learn how to make a cute accompanying craft to take home. *Note: You must sign up to attend this program, we can only allow minimum of 10 participants to ensure safe social distancing. * Please call at (302) 398-4647 to sign up. All ages.

Make & Take: Patriotic Ribbon Banner

Thursday, July 7th @ 5:00 pm— Visit the library to make a simple rustic yet original patriotic banner ribbon flag using pretty scraps of white and red ribbon as well as denim fabric and star-shaped buttons. *Please sign up in advance to attend! Senior Medical Patrol

Monday, July 11th- 11:00 am – 1:00 pm — Senior Medical Patrol (SMP) is a group of volunteers, brought to you by Delaware Health and Social Services, who empowers and assist seniors within the community. Representatives will be here in-person to answer your questions regarding where and how to obtain help on wellness, healthcare, fraud, & more for the elderly. Stop by to speak with these volunteers and get your concerns taken care of! FREE. Adults.

Friends of the Harrington Public Library Meeting

Tuesday, July 12th, @ 6:00 pm — Interested in supporting your local library and becoming a valued patron who aids in library programs, events, and general ongoings? Consider becoming a Friend! We’re very much interested in new members from our community as we’ll be discussing future fundraising opportunities to contribute to the library’s new building project as well as efforts to volunteer for special library events. New members are always welcomed.

Musical Group – Two of a Kind

Tuesday, July 19th @ 6:00 pm— TWO OF A KIND are interactive children’s music performers that delight audiences of all ages with their music, good humor, and audience participation. David and Jenny Heitler-Klevans of TWO OF A KIND love bringing people together and building community through music. Their beautiful harmonies accompanied by David’s powerful, rhythmic guitar playing and Jenny’s multi-ethnic percussion instruments create magic on stage. *Note: This program will be featured outdoors at Freedom Park. Please bring your own blanket &/or chair. * All Ages. FREE.

 

Turtle Dance Music – “An Ocean of Possibilities!” (Virtual)

Wednesday, July 20th @ 10:45 am – Join us for a very special storytime event with Mr. Matt from Turtle Dance Music. “Let’s Go surfing now! Everybody’s learning how! Come on and safari with me!” This show features wonderful classic and original kid’s songs & tales about being under the sea! The show engages kids with songs, comedy, bubbles, and music technology. It’ll also discuss why it is important to keep our oceans clean and how to protect our oceans from harmful things like microplastics. Kids will dance, sing, laugh, use their imaginations and connect with new friends. The show is crafted to be inclusive for all children, including children on the Autism Spectrum, and a great time for parents and teachers! All Ages. FREE.

Mobile Gaming Bus

Saturday, July 30th @ 11:30 – 1:30 pm —presented by Mobile Cloud Video Game Party!
Visit the front of the library to check out this awesome Mobile Gaming bus featuring 7 widescreen high-def. TVs, laser light show, and multiplayer gaming excitement! Up to 28 can game at the same time with our stadium seating, with an additional 4 gamers on our exterior TVs.
