Assist Benefits (Social Workers at the Library)

Friday, March 1st from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm—The DHSS Community Partner will be at the library to help with the Assist application process, applying for food benefits, Medicaid, long term nursing care, childcare, home energy assistance, learning about other DHSS agencies, referrals to partner organizations, and employment/job training.

Monday, March 4th from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm—Join us at the library for an afternoon of dueling. Test your deck and meet new friends! Other games and gamers welcome. Bring your friends! Ages 10 and up.

 

Walk In Computer Help

Tuesday, March 5th @ 1:00 pm— Basic Computer Class. Space is limited; please sign up at the front desk.

 

Teen Meeting

Tuesday, March 5th @ 6:00 pm—All teens are welcome to attend this meeting and weigh in on library issues. Refreshments will be served! This is a great opportunity to get some volunteer experience.

 

The Music School of Delaware-Violins-Storytime

Wednesday, March 6th @ 10:45 am— Storytime every Wednesday. This program is geared towards pre-school age children and below. Each week we will read new stories and make fun crafts. If you have a group larger than 10, please sign up in advance.

Identity Theft Class

Tuesday, March 12th @ 4:00 pm—Come out for this free program taught by a Dover Federal Credit Union representative. Participants will learn about fraud and how to protect yourself and reduce the threat of having your identity stolen.

I Support the Library Pizza Party and Letter Writing Night

Thursday, March 14th from 5:00 pm—8:00 pm

Would you like to show your Community Leaders that Libraries are a part of having a strong community? Or would you like to share the impact that the library has on your life or the life of your family? Come to this FREE event where pizza will be eaten, letters will be written to City of Harrington Council Members, and there will be a fun activity for children! We will also have the Teen Advisory Board present to help children who cannot yet write transcribe letters! There is also a raffle-off a gift basket for I support the Library Night participants. Please sign up in advance for the night of advocacy and food, so we know how much pizza to have ready. We hope to see you there!

Tuesday, March 19th @ 5:30 pm—The Friends of the Harrington Public Library will be holding a meeting, and new members are welcome. Its purpose is to promote and enhance library programs, services, and facilities. It is a volunteer organization; whose members share the belief that a strong public library is valuable asset to our local communities. We will also be nominating new officers. Join Today.

Brown Bag Book Sale

Saturday, March 23rd from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm—Everything you can fit in our large grocery store brown bags is yours for $5! Each bag can be stuffed with whatever items we have on sale, and there’s a lot to be had in the backroom, so don’t miss out on this Book Sale Extravaganza!
