To honor all of our men and women that have served in our Armed Forces, with a special focus on those that have made the ultimate sacrifice in the defense of our country, we will be hosting a Memorial Day Parade, beginning at 9:00 am. The parade will begin at W. T. Chipman Junior High School, proceed down Dorman Street, turning onto Commerce Street, ending at Asbury Church on Weiner Ave. To be a participant in the parade, contact Doug Poore, 302-670-6158 or email: info@ghhsociety.org.

There will be other events on Memorial Day including:

  • Red, White, and Blue Color Run/Walk at 7 a.m.
  • Wreath laying at the Clark monument with a presentation on Delaware’s involvement in the Revolutionary War by George Washington following the parade
  • American Legion Post 7 wreath laying at the Hollywood cemetery at 11 a.m.
  • Greater Harrington Historical Society museum will be open until 4 p.m. and serving old fashioned fountain sodas and ice cream floats
