Dear Property Owner,
The Harrington Police Department in cooperation with the city of Harrington is committed to making our neighborhoods safer. In an effort to better educate and train our landlords and property managers, we are hosting a special training session for owners. This is a free program the Delaware Department of Justice has put together to assist rental property owners/ managers in learning the best practices of property management. As you may be aware, the General Assembly recently revised the Delaware Criminal Nuisance Abatement Act. It empowers the State to shut down rental properties with frequent illegal drug activity and impose severe financial penalties on the property owner.
This class is mandatory to all landlords within the city limits, per City Code 314-1 C. This training will outline the steps and provide tools and tips to help you meet your obligations as a property owner in preventing neighborhood crime.
