New Trash Company for Harrington Residents


Trash and recycling services were bid out earlier this year, and the contract was awarded to the lowest bidder, Charlie’s Waste Services. What Happened to the Big Recycling Cans at W.T. Chipman?


The Delaware Solid Waste Authority (DSWA) provided the drop-off recycling centers at various sites throughout the state. Between decreased demand (because of curbside recycling), illegal dumping at the sites, and recyclables being contaminated with household trash, the DSWA reduced the drop-off recycling centers to only DSWA facilities. Yard Waste Cannot Be Placed in Trash Containers


As of January 1, 2011, yard waste is banned from being disposed of in Delaware landfills. Please do not mix grass, leaves, tree limbs, shrubs, or garden material with regular household garbage.
