Water Meter Installation

Neptune Water MeterThe Public Works Department is currently installing new Neptune water meters throughout the City (pictured on the right). This project was funded through savings from the City at no additional cost to the consumer. You may experience a brief interruption in service as the new meter is installed. The installers will be posting a green notice on your door when your new meter is installed.

Water meters will allow the City to bill customers for their actual usage rather than a flat rate for every user. The end result is a more equitable and accurate water system that also encourages water conservation. Please note that the current billing rates will continue until all meters are installed and a fair rate set.

Please be aware that there is an antenna on top of the meter pit lid (pictured on the right),Pit Lid with Antenna which is used to conduct meter readings remotely. Please be careful not to disturb this antenna; do not run a lawn mower over top of the meter pit. Any broken antennas will be replaced at a cost to the property owner of $125.

If you have any questions, please contact City Hall at 398-3530.
